After a busy day of fishing and nursing her cubs, a mama bear and her three cubs relax on on the shore of an Alaskan river in the Katmai National Park and Preserve. This family of brown bears is engaging in a variety of behaviors, including drinking from the river, sitting in the grass, and laying on the rocky beach. The mother bear must remain alert for threats to her young spring cubs, who are not yet old enough to properly assess their environment.
