The sun sets over the cliff side Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse in Acadia National Park. The sunset casts the sky in a beautiful gradient of blue and red, throwing light onto the rocky shore below the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse.
The Bass Harbor Head lighthouse was built in 1858. The Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse is made out of brick and is colloquially known as the Bar Harbor Lighthouse. Like almost all lighthouses today, the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse is now automated.
