Lion Boxing MatchLion Boxing Match - As the sun was getting ready to set, this pride of Masai Mara lions in Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, Africa, were playing and teaching the young the skills it needs for the hunt. Here we watched several cubs playfully swatting at each other. It was a great site to see how patient the older cubs were with the much younger cubs.

Portrait Of An ElephantAmboseli National Park in southern Kenya is known for the large concentration of elephant families that roam its beautiful landscape. Amboseli was the last park that we would visit on our African Safari and we were amazed at the number of elephant families. As elephants have the longest memories, they were very protective of their young and would frequently move the babies to the back of the herd and place several large females between the babies and our vehicle.

Hippos EverywhereUnknown to most, the hippopotamus is the most dangerous animal in Africa. We were a bit nervous as our small rowed boat came into close contact with these huge beautiful mammals. Lake Naivasha near Nairobi is home to large groupings of hippo families. They float weightless in the water before climbing onto the banks to sunbathe.

Pelican Of Lake Naivasha KenyaThis Pelican of Lake Naivasha, Kenya, was very relaxed with my presence. I was photographing him for a boat just 20 feet away. It was a bit nerve wracking as we had to negotiate huge families of floating hippos to get to the birds feeding on the lake.
