Black Church Steeple In Budir IcelandIceland’s Búðakirkja (Black Church) was built in 1703, and reached its modern-day height in 1847 as the pennant shows. The area has so few parishioners that the church was once demolished, but in 1987, a worshipper led an effort to have it preserved as a historical monument.
