These photos were taken all over North America and beyond, and include scenes from the Colorado Rocky Mountains, Denali (Mt. McKinley) National Park in Alaska, the wilderness of Iceland, and more. These mountain pictures also portray wildlife like bears and bald eagles, and celestial phenomena like double rainbows and the Aurora Borealis (northern lights).

Emerald Lake In The Canadian YukonWhile exploring the South Klondike Highway, we explored the beautiful Emerald Lake just to the south of Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada and north of Skagway, Alaska. The brilliant green of the water is a result of calcium carbonate leaching from the limestone gravels of the valley. This shallow lake was formed like most lakes in the north by glacial retreat.

Mayflower Gulch Cabin With MountainsOne of our favorite hikes in the central mountains of Colorado is the Mayflower Gulch Trail just north of Leadville, Colorado. Its a gentle climb that starts just off Highway 91 and winds about 2 miles back into the abandoned Old Boston Mine. At an altitude of almost 11,000 feet, the air is thin, but the views are spectacular. Here we are inside one of the old cabins and looking towards beautiful Fletcher mountain in the Tenmile Range of the White River National Forest.

Denali Or Mount McKinley Mountain With ReflectionIt is rare that Denali is out for viewing as only 30% of visitors to Denali National Park see the mountain. After many attempts, I was fortunate enough to not only see it on a clear day, but to capture a perfect refection of the "Great One" as the sun painted it orange. The reflection pond near the end of the park road serves as a perfect location to capture not one but two images of the magnificent peak.
