Grizzly bear cub climbing and playing on a piece of drift wood at the beach. The sloughs around Silver Salmon Creek will ebb and flow with water throughout the year. Curious cubs are able to find many toys when the sandy beaches open up. This young bear found a washed up tree to clamor about on as it stands before a green background of sedge grass and yellow wildflowers. Lake Clark provides four biomes for bears to explore including coastal, wetland, tundra, and forest communities. This image of a brown bear at play was captured at a recent photography workshop.
