Bear family in Lake Clark National Park taking a moment to rest on the tidal flats near Silver Salmon Creek. This mother grizzly and her two cubs are caught nuzzling up during a recent bear watching photography workshop. As the flats are filled with delectable clams, and the waters teeming with spawning sockeye salmon, these grizzlies are full and happy. The sow looks tenderly at her brood as she crosses her paws in repose. The long claws of these bears makes for great digging tools as they forage clams and roots.
