Getting Your Eagles in a Row

Getting your eagles in a row— These four eagles posed in a perfect line for us.

This silly scene was captured on the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve near Haines, Alaska. The birds flock to the preserve in early November to feed on the salmon, which will be extra plentiful in the area at this time.

Bald Eagles often fight with each other, but only if there is food at stake. These four eagles were simply lounging in the river, occasionally preening themselves.
