A greater roadrunner photographed at a South Texas birding ranch. These desert birds grow up to two feet long, and can be recognized by the crest of blue feathers on their heads.
Their top ground speed is about 15 miles an hour. Unfortunately for fans of the old cartoons, a coyote runs at around 40.
