Horned puffin parents lay just one egg at a time, and put in an equal amount of work rearing it. Mom and Dad take turns incubating the egg. When it hatches, they’ll guard the baby and gather its food in shifts. It’ll take about 40 days until the baby puffin can fend for itself.
