Two young brown bear cubs play fight. Although they look quite large up close, you can tell these animals are young by looking at they eyes, which are quite expressive. You can see the innocence and playfulness of the young twin bear cubs as they play with each other. Older bears have eyes which appear more tired. Bears are quite expressive creatures in everything from their body language to their eyes. They are not the fearful beasts which humans often think of them as.
In fact, here in Katmai National Park and Preserve, the local brown bears will not bother humans unless they feel their cubs are threatened. Although we use zoom lenses to capture close of photos like this one, often we can get so close that the zoom is not necessary to capture an amazing photo of a grizzly bear.
