White Necked Jacobin Female in Costa Rica

The white-necked jacobin is an ambitious forager, seeking its food from the soil to the rainforest canopy. You can see its colorful plumage all throughout Central America, but Costa Rica is a particularly good spot.

We can tell this jacobin is a female because of its green hood. Some females of this species look more like males, with dark blue heads and pure white bellies.
