A teething baby bear gnaws on its own foot. Just like human babies, young bears will chew on anything and everything they can get their paws on (including their own paws!)
This adorable little cub was about forty feet away from our group of photographers. He tumbled over backwards several times while we were photographing him. The group could barely keep their laughter together while watching the young acrobat.
This cute photo is a personal favorite from the 2014 Grizzly Bear Photography workshop in Lake Clark National Park, Alaska. Seeing these bears frolic and play in their natural habitat, unimpeded by human civilization, is a truly special experience.
